Retribution Body is the alias of the Boston, Massachusetts-based technician, acoustic and mastering engineer Matthew Azevedo. Put out on the Type label, which has previously released the likes of Richard Skelton, Yellow Swans and Jon Mueller, Aokiagahara is an incredible atmospheric two-track work of low-frequency drones. Recorded in a concert hall, Aokiagahara runs parallels with the likes of early Earth or Sunn O))) but with a softer, spacious tone. It’s recommended that you listen to these works with a good pair of speakers or headphones for its full hypnotic effect.
