Tobias Freund chases his excellent A Series Of Shocks long player with a finely curated remix EP on Ostgut Ton. Canadian born, Berlin based producers Mathew Jonson and The Mole take on the sinister ‘If’, swapping the original’s live-sounding swing for a restrained, quantized menace. The icy dance grooves of ‘Cursor Item Only’ are twisted inside out by Peter Van Hoesen on his acidized rework, and UK transplant Blue Hour flips the Chicago-indebted ‘He Said’, upping the tempo and adding frenzied, strobe-lit synths.
