Silvia Jiménez Alvarez aka JASSS is a Berlin-based sound artist, producer and DJ born and raised in Asturias in northern Spain. Her debut full length album Weightless was released in 2017, using imagined nostalgia to demonstrate her visceral approach to avant-garde composition.

JASSS’ show-stopping, apocalyptic and dramatic submission to the esteemed AD93 catalogue titled “Turbo Olé”/”We Solve This Talking”, dropped in 2020. Turbo Olé attained cult status and became one of the tracks of the year when club doors were shuttered (Pitchfork, Mixmag, DJ Mag).

In 2021 the reframing of JASSS’ musical language took flight with the genre-collapsing A World Of Service, featuring her voice as a central instrument alongside electronics and metal tinged percussion on Berlin’s Institutional Ostgut-Ton Label. This was accompanied by a number of revered live performances crafted with Ben Kreukniet (Sonar (ES), Lunchmeat (CZ), Donaufestival (AT), Draiimolen (NL) and HAU1 (DE)). This creative partnership was subsequently commissioned for 2022 Venice Biennale in collaboration with the choreographer, Edit Domoszlai. 2023 has been uncreasingly busy for JASSS, with global touring, Herrensauna residency duties and playing the iconic closing at Berghain for the first time in late August.
