With Jamie Lidell now getting sampled on Lil Wayne records, it should be abundantly clear to all that Mr Lidell's music lends itself to any number of genres and styles. Hot on the heels of LP ‘Jamie Lidell’ comes the first of several reworks. The industrial pop of ‘What A Shame’ has been crushed into dubstep synths by RL Grime & Salva, who sharpen Lidell’s voice and cap off the choruses with spectacular anti-drops. On the B-side, ‘You Naked’ and its glitched low end get the Jimmy Edgar treatment, the grunts pushed to the front of the mix with a beat grafted on from ‘Simply The Best’. Every bit as fresh as the original.
