Acid duo Paranoid London follow up a run of 12”s and edits on their own imprint with their second LP entitled Arseholes, Liars, and Electronic Pioneers. A case study in retrofitting classic genre signifiers to a more modernist approach, Paranoid London throw a banger here, with a guest list that includes heroic influences (Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie and DJ Genesis) and red hot contemporaries alike. As for the soundtrack, it’s a sweaty, sensual, and profoundly queer mix of hardware madness, all space-age synths and bone-crunching kicks.
