Necessity is often the mother of invention — and for Gerardo Delgado and Quinn Whalley aka DJ duo Paranoid London, the impetus for creation came from losing a vital tool. Their 303, a foundational instrument for their trademark acid sound, had broken. Without a soul who could fix it in the midst of a global pandemic, the twosome sought to craft a back-to-basics techno EP built from sine wave atmospherics, white noise percussion and an airy mysticism thanks to Paris Brightledge’s ghostly vocal input on ‘Linked In’. Through it all, Annihilate The World & Start Over succeeds in providing would-be dancefloor bangers fit for any underground club worth its salt.
