As part of a wave of reissues and a desirable box-set of vinyl LPs, 4 Men With Beards present ‘Blind Joe Death’, a landmark album from guitarist and composer John Fahey and his mytical accomplice, Blind Joe. Originally released in 1959, ‘Blind Joe Death’ was Fahey’s first album to appear and also one of the first ever albums to be recorded, produced and released by an independent artist on his own Takoma Records, giving Fahey the title of the original underground musician. Musically, it immortalised the avant-garde with the recording of steel string acoustic guitar solos, interpreting blues and folk in a typically idiosyncratic fashion.
