Manchester's Florentino lands on XL Recordings for the latest entry in their iconic house bag with a new EP entitled Kilometro Quinze. Named after Florentino’s grandfather’s farm in his native Colombia, the music on Kilometro Quinze traces a through line from between the rhythmic heft of the Latin American musical diaspora and the darker club sounds of his UK upbringing. Connecting the strands chased throughout the Florentino oeuvre to this point, the EP works something like a greatest hits survey, and tracks like the Shygirl feature ‘Pressure’ stand strong alongside any other Florentino heater.
