As with his chilling score for the 2018 film Suspiria, Thom Yorke’s latest soundtrack work for Daniele Luchetti’s Confidenza is out on vinyl, CD, and digital via XL Recordings. Having found something of a kinship with contemporary Italian cinema, Yorke’s work here fits the tense yet pensive mood of the film like a glove. Most of the movements here begin with a single haunted pluck of a string or other simple musical motif before gradually building into heaving swells of instrumental noise. Working yet again with producer Sam Petts-Davies and the London Contemporary Orchestra, Yorke and company are on their way to becoming a force in the film world, as well.
