Call Super returns to Can You Feel The Sun (which they co-run with fellow Londoner Parris) for their fourth LP entitled Eulo Cramps. Drifting out even further from the technicolour techno of their earlier more dance oriented efforts, Eulo Cramps deals largely in the avant garde. Free jazz and improv are Call Super’s leading lights here, with plenty of sonic space for their patented “eharp” to take hold. Inspired in parts by a period of deep introspection about their past bodily relationship, Call Super also found themselves wanting some levity, and so the rolling hills and foliage of their youth also plays a crucial role in the album’s thematic progression. A multimedia project of great ambition, Eulo Cramps also includes a series of paintings that delve deeper into Call Super’s soul search.
