Russian producer Dasha Rush returns to raster for a new LP of hauntingly immersive ambient music entitled Contemplating. Much like its title suggests, Rush explores a sound that inspires deep examination here, building trance-like and tactile sonic submergence via sparse, but overwhelming instrumentation. Tracks like ‘Morphingeist’ and ‘Summer Photons’ use the language of rave and club music stripped off its rhythmic heft to achieve a womb-like stasis that you feel even more than you hear.
