L.I.E.S. boss Ron Morelli returns to his home label for his first full length LP in half a decade with Heart Stopper. Something of a rejoinder to the headier, more dancefloor-focused energy of L.I.E.S. earliest days, Heart Stopper shows off a looser, more house oriented side of Morelli. Don’t worry though, there’s still plenty of grit and grime to be found here, as you can practically hear the dust being blown out the speakers on hardware workouts tracks like ‘Subway Shootout’ and ‘Gun Smoke’. Morelli is at his best on ‘Time Stands Still’, adding some darker synth shades to a piano house roller that piles on the emotion at every turn.
