London’s Basic Rhythm marks the end of his tenure on the legendary Planet Mu label with an EP that plays to his strengths. Combining that 90’s jungle flair with the sort of nods to dub, techno, and hardcore that fans come to expect from Basic Rhythm’s deft hands. The title track rides a tricky syncopated drum pattern that brilliantly rises until falling out into an enormous amen break drop, while ‘Horse Mout’’ goes straight for the dancefloor with its heaving tempos. The knocking sub bass on closer ‘Satta’ dips down into some deep dub, a fitting ending to an excellent EP.
