Bleep

Originally composed for an audio-visual kinetic art installation by Christopher Bauder and kangding ray, the latter commits the minimal sounds of SKALAR to its own proper release. The piece itself featured heavy usage of mirrors to reflect the essence of human emotions and the steady call-and-response patterns of 61 Mirrors. Music for SKALAR is reflective of this fact. Uncanny zithers and implacable slithers of sound flit from one side of the mix to the other, as digitised drones steep these tracks within the realms of the sensual. The likes of ‘Oboe’ reveal ray’s fascination with rhythmic movement, recalling a techno track stripped of superfluous baggage.
