Bleep

As was the case on June’s Predawn Qualia, kangding ray presents us with four techno tracks on the Azores EP. Most of the tracks here are DJ tools in the Ellen Allien vein - though cuts like ‘22 Halo’ offset their tough grooves with some pensive, somewhat mournful production. The latter effect is heightened on the two-step-inspired title-track that closes out the record, a number that harks back to the early-2010s productions of Mahs, Hackman and the like.
