Ever wondered what it would sound like if EVOL had a go at making grime? Container’s new record might solve that one for you. Scramblers is a wild ride and one of those records which simultaneously reinvents a form while delivering some of its most punishing beats. Tracks like ‘Nozzle’ and ‘Mottle’ have a distinct whiff of ‘Pulse X’ about them, their bass hits thwacking you right in the chest, but there is also a noisiness and chaos about these tunes which belies Container’s background in noise and experimental music. Despite being made with little more than an MC-909 and some pedals, Scramblers is a record as wacky as it is hard. Those who follow Power Vacuum Records should definitely give this one a go.
