To watch Dorian Concept compose his hip-hop instrumentals via jazz originals is to accept the impossible (or if you’re a musician, you might feel the impulse to pack up your instruments altogether). He’s come a long way since his mid-2000s online-only releases, having since dropped albums on Ninja Tune and Brainfeeder, but his old cut Toothbrush / Booth Thrust, released on his Soundcloud page in 2012-13, showcases something close to the original of the species.
