Letherette are four-for-four on their own Wulf Imprint now. Having reissued some of their early odds-and-ends over the past few months, EP4 is the duo’s first pressing of new material. As one might be able to tell from them breaking with the cover design of EPs 1 to 3, this latest collection marks a step forward for the group. It’s not a wholesale revolution - they maintain their penchant for melodic four-on-the-floor and hip-hop stylings, and the whole thing has a carefree charm to it - but the pair do go further down the house wormhole than they have done previously. That means Ross From Friends/Mall Grab fetishism on ‘Side Fade’, soulful deepness for ‘Feel It’ and ‘Give My Love’, and a nice bit of filter-disco in the form of ‘Flowatch’.
