New on raster-noton is this four track EP of brutalist sonics from young producer Jesse Osborne-Lanthier, once again leaving us no doubts that RN are still one of the most important labels of this ilk. Clocking in as the ninth and final release on the labels unun series, the tracks straddle that line between claustrophobic warehouse reductions (‘Lick and a Promise’) and dub-influenced downtempo electronics (‘Blackwell Dynonetics’). Recorded two hours before a live performance in Paris, Unalloyed, Unlicensed, All Night! Is a conceptual art piece designed to ‘stimulate bodies through sound’. Definitely worth a look.
