Next in line for LITA’s Hazlewood retrospective is this expanded reissue of the 1970 cult classic Cowboy in Sweden, a surreal psychedelia-infused biopic starring the singer himself. Recorded in four different countries with an impressive list of session musicians, Cowboy in Sweden was not only the final release on the ill-fated Lee Hazlewood Industries label but also the most ambitious release the Nancy Sinatra affiliate ever penned. Melancholic country pop with a twist of self-aware political humour and heart-warming melodies aplenty! Be sure to check ‘No Train to Stockholm’.
