A special reissue from the golden-age of 1970s Japanese electronics from Moog visionary Tomita, revived and repackaged by the cool folk at Contempo. Catastrophe 1999 (aka ‘The Prophecies Of Nostradamus’) was directed by Toshio Masuda in 1974 and in the sound studio Tomita showed his considerable skills by blending a pioneering tapestry of Mellotron synthesizers and a jazz/rock orchestra in a swooning Morriconelike style. An epic spacefunk masterpiece!!! Master and sound restoration by Roberto Zamori at Film Music Art Studio.
