Following Melbourne producer Mosam Howieson’s debut on Further Records, label bosses Marc Cul and Chloe Harris Parisian present more fresh talent on their Seattle imprint: Nautil, a Parisian bioengineer interested in acoustics, signal processing, and informatics, debuts with a three-tracker of detailed, sub-focussed techno. On ‘Canopée’, the dreamy, explorative synths sound like sudden epiphanies, weighed down by the low frequencies. They take on the form of grumbling thunder in the distance on ‘Mue’, whereas ‘Galdae’ rather accentuates the bass, allowing for moving rhythmical dynamics.
