Long-standing German experimental musician and innovative percussionist Burnt Friedman recently headed up with Berlin-based actor and vocalist Daniel Dodd-Ellis for an immersive LP release on via Friedman’s own Nonplace imprint. This three track EP extends the pleasure principle further by pushing source material off that record into deeper, longer, better zones. The pick here is the twitchy revision of ‘Cycles’ which sounds like a perfect synchronisation of Villalobos minimal techno landmarks and Friedmann’s own interpretation of 4/4 history, ripe for the DJ’s.
