Elektro Guzzi are a unique and intriguing proposition; they make analogue brain frying techno but they do so by using the classic rock set-up of guitar, bass, and drums. The band's latest album is titled Observatory, and is released via Macro Recordings. The album is a lengthy and extended foray into the nexus between rock and techno, that comes out sounding firmly like face melting techno of the most joyous vintage. Highlights include the swinging swagger of 'Alaska Flip' that feels like it would ideally work as montage music in a Nicolas Winding Refn revenge movie, and the gritty industrial stomp of 'Trojan Robot'.
