Londoner Sohn steps up for his debut full length ‘Tremors’ on the excellent 4AD imprint, delivering eleven tracks of deftly-produced electronic pop which bear the evidence of repeated night-time sessions in his Vienna studio. On ‘Artifice’ the producer is on startlingly good form, with a lilting yet muscular percussion line crisply rendered below soaring synth lines above which the artist's voice croons and swoops. ‘Bloodflows’ is similarly impressive, re-sculpting the same core elements into a more introspective number which nonetheless rolls with the suggestion of a half-step swagger.
