Djavan Santos AKA D33j marks his debut EP release with a heady collection of organic, down tempo beats on the ever-impressive Anticon Records. The piece is a look inwards, packed with isolated beats, distant voices and earthy textures covered in echo. ‘Faded Creek’ makes a gristly start, laying down a slow, lonely kick over echoed voices; ‘Slow’ follows a similar track with an additional layer of haze and vocalist Kreyola’s intermittent vocals. On the flip,‘Stills’ and ‘Empty Sunset’ continue the intimate feel with raw beats amongst a deep, atmospheric backdrop.
