London mega-club Fabric’s Houndstooth label release the highly anticipated debut from duo Akkord, aka Synkro and Indigo. The tracks collected on the full-length focus on a precisely wrought yet physical techno sound, which draws upon chugging Berlin templates and raster-noton bleeps on ‘Hex_ad’, adding delicate rolls effectively to the mix on ‘Navigate’. Traces of the duo’s individual work on dubstep-derived productions are clear to hear, with a sumptuous and omnipresent bass weight giving a vital sparring partner for crisp percussion programming and machine belches.
