Argentinian composer Horacio Vaggione is something of a living legend in the electroacoustic space. A musician foremost, but also a celebrated academic, Vaggione’s sonic output and research work within the fields of microsound and granular synthesis have pushed forward the very idea of sonic invention on the symphony stage and in the conservatory, as well. This new compilation from the GRM’s Recollection label entitled Schall / Rechant packages four distinct Vaggione pieces spanning nearly a decade in his middle period, and you can feel immense history within these grooves.
