Originally pressed exclusively for a live set staged during the 2023 Amsterdam Dance Event, Magnetron Music is now issuing a short LP run of Fatima Yamaha’s soundtrack for the Dutch documentary Onzichtbaar. Gabrielle Provaas’ film uncovers the unseen world of The Netherlands’ tireless cleaning crews, asking big questions about the things in life we take for granted. Yamaha for his part meets that inquisitorial nature with an eclectic collection of scoring and true songwriting that uses 80’s new wave and dub techno as a foundation to explore several different motifs and moods. As such, Onzichtbaar (OST) makes for a breezy, but thought-provoking listen even without context.
