Helado Negro is back with his second album fro 4AD: Phasor sits at the centerpoint of a supercomputer synthesiser, deep listening, and returning to the world outside, much of which is reflected in the sounds themselves. Imperative drums stomp like excited footsteps, reverb floating in the clouds, and trickling synth rivers, as Lange muses on how the landscape and its people have changed. ‘LFO’ switches between jittery electronics, considered strings, and fiery dream pop, while ‘Flores’ breathes with a heavenly, spaced out guitar ballad.
