Culled from a live show at the 2021 edition of Week-End Records’ annual experimental festival, this two part set shows synth maestro Suzanne Ciani at the height of her beguiling powers. The title Improvisation On Four Sequences is both accurate and also something of a misnomer, as Ciani takes the listener on a very purposed journey through the halls of American avant-garde electronica. From soothing ambience to proggy psychedelia to something resembling the catch and release hedonism of functional dance music, this is a true showcase of the awesome power of the Buchla synthesizer.
