SBTRKT’s first album in seven years finally arrives, juxtaposing the “determination and hopelessness” felt through a precarious period in Aaron Jerome’s life, and the world at large. The contrast between “pushing it forward” and watching “how the day goes by” is evident in contributions from The Rat Road’s star-studded lineup, but also in SBTRKT’s virtuoso production: ‘L.F.O.’ features arresting vocals from Sampha and George Riley, over heavy stellar synths that split atoms with each slam before imploding under jazzy breakdowns.
