London producer Luke Blair resurrects his old alias Lukid after some time away for a new solo LP on his own Glum imprint entitled Tilt. After some extended forays into jungle both maximalist (as half of Rezzett) and bruisingly lo-fi (as Refreshers), Blair returns to the more cerebral and harder to pin down Lukid project with a clearly renewed sense of purpose and energy. The tricky rhythmed ‘Haringey Leisure’ hues closest to the hardcore he’s been kicking up on the side, but even that is drenched in rainforest haze and tape hiss. Much of Tilt instead leans into the calm and serene (if sometimes willfully weird), especially the bookended ‘End Melody’ and ‘End Loop’.
