New York techno producer Beta Librae lands back on Incienso for her third LP entitled Daystar. An all together brighter and lighter affair than prior efforts, Daystar adds some well-appreciated radiance to Beta Librae’s extensive catalogue. Thankfully her expertly sculpted rhythms and expansive sound design remain. Tracks like ‘Mammoth Melting Sugar’ and ‘Weavers’ swing across the either sonic field with percussive sounds that ping pong across the channels, fully immersing the listener as if they're listening to a performance in the round. The James K collab ‘Late At Night’ adds hard kicks that flirt with dembow and breathy topline vocals that inch ever closer to straight up pop music. Another triumph for one of New York’s most talented producers.
