Fluid electronic activity from Nhk’koyxen, also known as Kouhei Matsunaga, hailing from Osaka by way of Berlin. Following on from recent collaborations with the likes of Autechre’s Sean Booth, Matsunaga presents the convoluted mechanics of ‘Dance Classics Vol.1’. You may think such a title would be better lent to the Trax Records back-catalogue, but irony aside, Matsunaga’s deeply rhythmic and structural understanding soon becomes apparent. All that said, this is not your average dance floor odyssey - altered states of consciousness collide with warped discipline.
