Bleep

Deadbeat make a statement with an inaugural release on their BLKRTZ label, with austere-looking artwork and five austerely-titled tracks. The music, however, is far from solemn (perhaps the label borrows the namesake of Lee Perry's 'Black Ark' studios); a vivid blend of kaleidoscopic dub, dissonant noise and steppers-like rhythm. An ideal range, over these five tracks, that rouses the neon, 'strip-light' hum of Pole and the alien, bass texture of Old Apparatus.
