London-based trio Circle Traps land on Lex Records with their latest EP. Machine City positions crystalline electronic melodies against tough techno percussion. Throbbing industrial stomps are offset by floating ambient textures which in turn give way to a face-melting synth arpeggio on the title track, while 'You Are' bristles with electronic blips, and 'What It Holds' is a riot of thumping colour. It is opening track 'Portent' that is perhaps the most unpredictable and exciting though, textural, multi-hued electronics collapsing in on each other again and again.
