Japan’s Fleck E.S.C. makes his triumphant return to Central Processing Unit with another ace EP full of electro gems entitled Rough Silk. Rough Silk is an apt title for this four-tracker, as Fleck pairs his typically sharp machine funk with a few softer, more shapely elements, making for a strangely comforting listen. The title track’s dizzying synths really kick up after the one minute mark, excitedly sounding like a car chase on acid whereas the downtempo closer ‘Digger Play’ goes down relatively smooth with plinking electric piano chords.
