Chris Clark’s 2003 Ceramics Is The Bomb EP shows the producer in a wide array of different moods. The frantic ‘The Gavel’ is a cluster bomb of harsh, electrified industrial stomps which only break for the faint sound of ringing church bells whereas ‘Slow Spines’ follows with its gristly, brainfeeder-styled loose hip-hop groove. From here things move from soft lullabies (‘Frost Investigation’) to pacey acidic electronica (‘A.Council’) to more melodic IDM stylings in ‘Shonny’. Lastly, ‘Rob Lee’ takes influence from a Chicago 303 acid riff and adds that signature Warp sound for a moving closer.
