We’re pleased to see that post-punk/alternative dance legends A Certain Ratio are still in a state of pure play this many decades after their inception. Made with an internal brief of anything goes, ACR wrap up their trilogy of EPs with ACR:EPR, a record as devoted to the primal energy of the dancefloor as it is towards further realms of experimentation. The monster two-parter ‘$ouls in the City’ meld spooky vocal incantations with effortless funk and squalling, skronking sax, while the swampy swagger of ‘Night People’ recalls the synth sleaze of Iggy’s The Idiot.
