Like the work of former collaborator exael, Ben Bondy’s compositions exist in a freighted space. The tones and timbres used across the fifteen tracks of his new Sibling LP bear the hallmarks of ambient, meditative and fourth world music, what with Bondy’s light-touch approach and penchant for bedding down his sounds in warm washes of synth. However, there is also a restless quality to these numbers which means that the record always keeps the listener on their toes.
