The press release for the latest Analogical Force drop doesn't beat about the bush, declaring a braindance alert for RTR’s ‘PlanetX’ LP. Little information is available on the identity of RTR, but these eleven dancefloor experiments hit you with such power that you won’t really have time to ponder such things anyway. The first two-thirds of ‘PlanetX’ barely pause to draw breath, careering along on wild breakcore rhythms and spurts of acid bass in a manner that recalls classic Squarepusher. RTR softens things up towards the end of the record - a more contemplative IDM sensibility can be discerned on tracks like ‘XTR812’ and ‘Aurevoir-R’.
