Run for cover, Blawan is back! For his first solo release since his 2018 debut LP Wet Will Always Dry the producer offers us … more of the same. In our books, this is absolutely fine - there are few, if any, people currently operating who make techno of such sheer power. Blawan is absolutely merciless across the Many Many Pings EP, serving up four DJ tools that seem explicitly designed to test the structural integrity of whatever club, warehouse or aircraft hanger they are deployed in. Cuts like ‘Gadget’ and ‘Lox’ create a sort of feedback loop with D.Dan, a techno upstart very much in Blawan’s image. It’s so good to have him back.
