Blawan traverses even further down the Ternesc wormhole with his absolutely KILLER debut album Wet Will Always Dry.
It's no surprise that we've long been huge fans of Blawan, back in 2012 he and Pariah's Karenn project kicked the hinges off our debut 12" in the Green Series with a blood-drenched head to head with the Analogue Cops. Records like Why They Hide Their Bodies Under My Garage brought some seriously dark laughs to a techno scene in need of a shakeup and to remember the very best stuff always has a sense of humour about it and even his Kilner noise project for Avian stood out miles ahead from most others operating on the fringes of experimental electronics and slow-mo/tech-n0!se.
Flying the flag for the tough techno sound his name is now synonymous with, the effect of listening to Wet Will Always Dry is something like being repeatedly walloped in the side of the head by a massive rubber mallet (we mean this in a good way, mind!). Described by the label as physically and mentally draining in the best way possible, Blawan's Wet WIll Always Dry is a really fun journey through a techno hall of mirrors that is both crunchy and chewy in all the right places. It's also proof that even after eight years in the game, Blawan is still miles ahead of pretty much everyone in techno rn. Really, really great album!!
