Lovers of rare groove will be pleased with this. Madeline Bell and Alan Parker’s incidental soul LP The Voice Of Soul is well-known among crate diggers. In particular the fabulously funky ‘That’s What Friends Are For’ has long been cited as a high point of library music of all genres. The Voice Of Soul was originally cut for the KPM Themes International Library back in 1976. Copies of the original are scarce, so it’s a good job that Be With Records have managed to get this reissue together. The tracks here have been remastered from the original analogue tapes.
