Comprised of Bridget Hayden, Mary Stark, Sam McLoughlin and David Chatton Barker, The Root Folk Band journey across a montage of seasons on their Dave Pearson inspired soundtrack The Ritual Year. Ephemeral sections shift through mediaeval ambience and bright, manifold arrangements of instruments and sounds, a pastoral collage conceived as a “musical calendar” that crosses busy streets and bustling celebrations with twanging banjo, ritualistic drumming, and shades of flute ranging from blue skied to dark and mysterious.
