Saxophones and sensual, raspy vocals take centre stage on Kalevi’s collection of new wave and slow-disco inspired tracks. The Finnish composer and multi-instrumentalist’s second release on Weird World, ‘Out of Touch’ generates a dreamy synth-laden hinterland between pop, disco and lounge genres. ‘Emotions in Motion’ brings strong Bowie associations to the fore, while the back and forth between the male and female vocal in ‘Conceptual Mediterranean (Part 1)’ is reminiscent of Kings of Convenience track ‘I’d Rather Dance With You’.
