The long-running podcast series Mysteries of the Deep adds a new string to its bow with its first release of original material - a six-track LP from Brooklyn’s Certain Creatures. Nasadiya Sukta is an album that takes its foot off the gas in comparison with the last CC release, 2016’s breakneck Pleasure Principle EP for Medical Records. There is still techno here, but it comes slowed down and shrouded in fog. Tracks like ‘Cross Star Woman’ and ‘Tachyon’ (not a Death Grips cover) invoke the likes of bvdub and Carmen Villain in their combination of sky-scraping atmospherics and languid drum tracking.
