UK techno vet Steve Bicknell is using a resurgent interest in his music as an excuse to dust down some dubs from the vaults. As such, this first release in his ‘Awakening The Past’ series acts like a time-capsule from one of British club music’s vintage eras. ‘Physical Life’ and ‘Fearing the Mind’s Fears’ - the former written in the 90s, the latter last year - are nervy minimal jams that will be fine additions to many a mix. ‘Natural Vibrations’ finds Bicknell at his most acidic.
