One of the most prolific people in rock is back with yet another delicious spread. Fried Shallots is a sort-of-protest album about Trump and the general state of things, which is kind of a good thing. All proceeds from the release will be donated to the good work done by the American Civil Liberties Union, which is definitely a good thing. Anyway, the music here is pretty standard fare from the glam-garage songmeister. The drums are poundin’, the riffs are groovin’ and the vocals are distortin’. ‘Big Man’ and ‘Is It Real’ are both highlights which sound like T-Rex jamming with the late Jay Reatard.
